All I Know

by Allison McCulloch
If I could, I'd outrun sorrow's toll
It it were up to me, I'd have mercy to hold

But this is a trap
With no escape
Is my heart brought here only to break

Reason is foolish, and "logic's mad"
Maybe this is a cruel joke
Mothers tell their children to die, to die
And this is all I know

If I could I'd discover how to
End your anguish and mine too
But sometimes hope
Grows a little old
And I don't believe the possibility of freedom I've been told
